In July 1966 A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada incorporated the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The basis for our founders vision, the seven purposes were clearly stated, and co-signed by some of the first students of bhakti yoga in the western world. This all took place in a small storefront in the east village, no one present could have imagined that within just under ten years that this movement will have spread across the globe, resulting in 108 initial temples and an enigma that intrigued the world and became known as the ‘Hare Krishna’.
